Hon Dr. Agnes Binagwaho the Minister of Health
Was appointed Minister of Health of Rwanda in May 2011; she had been Permanent Secretary of Health since October 2008. From 2003 to 2008, she served as Executive Secretary of Rwanda’s National AIDS Control Commission. Prior to 2002, she practiced medicine in public hospitals in Rwanda and elsewhere after receiving her MD and specializing in Pediatrics, emergency pediatrics, neonatology, and the treatment of HIV/AIDS.
Hon Dr. Anita Asiimwe, The Minister of State in the Ministry of Health in charge of Public Health and Primary Health Care
Dr. Anita ASIIMWE is specialist in Public Health disciplines with vast experience in designing and implementing strategies to tackle HIV/AIDS pandemic and other infectious and non-infectious diseases. A medical doctor by profession, she holds a Masters degree in Public Health from Dundee University (UK). She’s currently the Minister of State for Health in charge of Public Health and Primary Health Care.Read more
Dr. Uzziel NDAGIJIMANA Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health
As the Permanent Secretary, he acts as a Coordinator of all Technical and Administrative Functions of the Ministry of Health; He Coordinates all Units, Departments and Partners in Health Sector and he leads implementation of Policies, Strategies and Programmes of the Government of Rwanda for the Health Sector.Before joining the Ministry of Health, he worked in Higher Education Sector, as a lecturer and researcher in the Faculty of Economics and Management at the National University of Rwanda.
